Wayne County Cardinals - 2016 Grade

I thought hard on an A- for the Cardinals, but three losses including a loss to a very mediocre Bryan Station team and a 51-0 shutout loss to Johnson Central made it too tough for me to let them by with a better grade. They also had within-one-touchdown win over a 4-6-1 Knox Central team that doesn't look so good on their 2016 resume.

 

All in all, Wayne County seems to have a good thing going over the last 5 years, but they need to overcome a hurdle or two in the playoffs in order to get by the big guys and get to the state finals.

 

Do you agree with a B for Wayne County? What grade do you give the Cardinals?

Expectations were high after they had given JC all they wanted in 2015 with a young team returning a year older.

 

Season was successful for sure, but outside of two nice wins over Mercer County and a Knox Central team with a losing record there was no real statement.

 

The running clock beatdown obviously stands out.

 

It also should be pointed out they lost their District Title.
