if anyone was at the mercer game friday night, i would like to know if i was the only one who noticed the thunder and lightning?

it started before half-time and continued until the game was called with 3minutes left in 4th. i know in other sports that game would have been called much much earlier. Yet, we put band members with flag sticks waving on the field during halftime and continued to play. it was my understanding that the officials are in control of this but which official? we left fans on metal bleachers, kids on the field and hoped for the best? well, we certainly were lucky. i do not think the life on anyone at that game should have been taken for granted but i feel that is what happened.

other games in the state were postponed or delayed. why was this one not?

In most cases that I have been involved with, the officials make the call on the game concerning the players. However the school administration would be reponsible for the people in the bleachers and the band.

They may have taken into consideration how far away the storm was, (if it was??) and made their decision from that. Or just weren't payin attention.
