Final from Powell County

REALLY?????

This is probably the worst Powell County team they've had in years. Them, Owsley and Lee will be a dog fight to see who goes to Region. Powell split with Lee, winning 16-5 @ Lee but losing 11-10 @ Powell...Powell defeated Owsley by 3, 5-2 @ Powell.

 

Lot of youngsters that don't get to play got to play in this one!

Covey started for Estill and was pulled for freshmen pitcher Hannah Adams. Covey went 2 innings, struck out 6, 1 BB, 2 hits 0 runs, 1 wild pitch, 47 pitches. Adams came in the 3rd, allowed 1 hit, 1 run, 1 K, 1 BB 24 pitches

 

#23 started for Powell and pitched only an inning, allowed 11 runs (all earned) on just 4 hits, 5 walks, 0 K's, had 3 wild pitches, 3 hit batters, 53 pitches. Howard came in the 2nd and finished the game, allowed 16 runs (9 earned) on 12 hits, 2 K's, 4 BB's, 1 HR, 72 pitches

 

Sarah Wiseman, Taylor Wiseman and Taylor Duechle had 15 RBI's for Estill (5 RBI apiece).

 

Estill had doubles by Duechle, Taylor Wiseman (2), Sarah Wiseman (2)....Duechle also had a 2 run home run

 

Powell didn't have any extra base hits

 

Estill improves to 9-10 and will travel to Garrard County tonight.

 

Powell County falls to 6-12 and will travel to Owsley County tonight.
