Dude is 95 years old. It's about time the Queen let him retire!

Prince Philip is currently 95 years old, and is the longest-serving consort to a British monarch with over 65 years in the position. Previous to him, the longest-serving consort was Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, wife of King George III. She served as the King's consort for just over 57 years.

Today is the Queen's 23,829th day as the British monarch. 65 years and 87 days. That's 603 days more than the next-longest reigning monarch and Elizabeth II's great-great grandmother, Queen Victoria.

Gonna be a big deal when shes passes, big deal.

I've thought about that on several occasions - particularly since "The Crown" came out on Netflix (awesome series, by the way). Think about the amount of international press and attention surrounding Charles & Di's wedding, Princess Diana's funeral, William & Cate's wedding, and the births of Prince George and Princess Charlotte...

It's already been 65 years since the UK last had a king. It's going to be a HA-YUGE deal when they crown the next one.
