Sorry I was late, gang! BGHS methodically picked apart an Adair Co Indian team that didn't quit. The Purples just methodically picked them apart. It was Homecoming Night at BGHS, and we just got lucky in avoiding all of that bad weather. We had a lot of wind, but fortunately no raindrops until after we got home.

At the 9:53 mark in the first quarter, senior RB Avery Hibbitt turned on the jets for the first of three scores on the night, this one on a 45 yard run. Senior K Casey Tinius' foot was back in shape and he was booting the PATs again. BGHS up 7-0. With 6:16 left in the first quarter, Hibbitt took off on another jaunt, this one from 34 yards. Tinius booted the PAT again and the Purples were up 14-0. With seven seconds left in the first, senior WR Ryan Beard caught a short nine yd toss from junior QB Trent Steelman, Tinius put the PAT through again, and the Purples led 21-0 after one qtr.

With 8:41 left in the first half, senior RB Anthony Davis reeled in a two yd toss from Steelman, Tinius nailed the PAT, and the Purples were up 28-0. Then with 3:32 left before halftime, junior WR D.L. Moore hauled in a 36 yd pass for a score, Tinius nailed it again, and the Purples went into halftime leading 35-0.

At 9:51 in the third qtr, Hibbitt scored again, this time from 17 yards out on a run. I was unclear who got the PAT, but the Purples were now up 42-0. Then, at 5:31 left in the qtr, junior TE Ryan Wallace caught his second TD pass in two games, this time from 35 yards out. The PAT attempt was blocked, and the Purples led 48-0. Time for the running clock!

With 3:45 left in the game, the Purples had one more score, on a 15 yd fumble return by junior SS Jared Carpenter. Sophomore Max Oldham booted the PAT, and that was the game.

Things will be very interesting next week as BGHS will host unbeaten Warren East (never thought I'd ever see myself writing that!). Both teams have offense and speed to spare, but give the Purple defense the difference in this one!:D

Ryan Beard kicked the PAT with the hold of Casey Tinius.

That's sure different! Doesn't surprise me though as superb an athlete that Ryan is. Thanx for filling in that one!:D
