No worries. I think that the reason the rules are a little different for club is the fact that most high school complexes do have a scoreboard where it would be possible to keep the official time there. Most club facilities, even where the state cup is played, do not have scoreboards therefore granting the referee some discretion can be useful. FIFA is an entirely different ball of wax though.
