Louisville Moves To #1 (Baseball)

Featured Replies

The Cards are #1 in the latest Baseball America poll. This is the first time in program history Louisville has been ranked #1.

Louisville is the only remaining undefeated D1 program at 15-0 (3-0 ACC).

While I am sure Dan McDonnell will be graceful about the recognition that comes from the program's 1st ever #1 ranking, he will also tell you that it won't, by itself, get them to Omaha. Sure it helps to be ranked highly throughout the year to make sure you get a Top 8 seed (host until you lose or travel to Omaha) or at least a Top 16 seed (host 1st weekend (Regional) and 2nd weekend (Super Regional) IF the Top 8 seed you're paired with does not advance out of their Regional), but there's lots of baseball to be played and the schedule only gets tougher from here.

Congrats & keep working!
