8th region warriors rankings would disagree. And no Collins was not an underdog to Desales. Collins has everybody back now minus one. I will agree that they are not playing well. If they are top 3 in our region then they were favored to beat Desales.

I am pretty sure Desales is like CAL - early in the year they did not have their entire team with football season and they have both gotten much better as the year as progressed and the football players were integrated into the team and scheme. Do not think the 2 pt victory would be the same if they played again today. CAL is a much improved team as evidence from their victory over OC the other night. Looking forward to the AC-Spencer match up in district.

 

Your making excuses for Desales, but Spencer County was playing with one of the youngest teams in the region. Some of those kids were playing their first varsity games ever. Spencer County has vastly improved also. Spencer played Christian Academy last week (fully loaded) at their place and took them to the wire. The Anderson/Spencer game will be emotionally charged I'm sure. In my opinion, Penny is going to have to have a great game for them to win. While he is the second best player in the region, Spencer County plays defense and they know how to take charges. If he gets in foul trouble it's over.

Their district meeting is on Sunday (tomorrow). I'm hearing they may do an all boy night on Tuesday and an all girl night on Wednesday. All details will be released after the meeting.
