The chance for strong to severe storms have increased for later this afternoon into the early evening hours. As of this morning, these possible storms could produce damaging winds, hail and the slight possibility a tornado or two especially in western Kentucky.

 

A line of storm should start to develop around 4 pm ET. This line should stretch from the northern Kentucky area all the way through western Kentucky. The strongest of these storms look to be in WKY. These will traverse across the state through the early evening into the night time hours.

 

The Storm Prediction Center has most of Kentucky in a Marginal Risk Area for strong to severe storms for later today.

I believe this is the first time since I've started doing this that I've had to stick both the Severe Weather and Winter Weather Tracker threads on the same day.

The SPC has now included parts of WKY and south central Kentucky in a slight risk area for strong to severe storms for this evening. The best chance for the possibility of tornadoes looks to be west of I-65.
