Cov Holy Cross 61 Boone County 48

Featured Replies

Going from memory... as I haven't seen the box score this morning.

Sr. guard Aleha Tucker led the way with 27. Sr. Courtney Turner and So. Olivia Crigler added 11 each for HC. HC transfer Zyah Beal paced the Rebels with 11. Best wishes going forward with BC.

Score was 62-48, I believe.

The Indians jumped up early but Boone never let up and kept within striking range most of game. No. 32 (Kylie Anderson?) was Boone's leading scorer. Had 13 or 14, I think. She was tough on the blocks with short turnarounds over Holy Cross' young bigs (who were pretty quiet). Was kinda surprised Boone didn't set Beal to slashing her way to the basket more than she did.

HC's Alehia Tucker played on another level, with a little of everything figuring into her 27: 3's, mid-range pull-ups, drives, foul shots. Displayed a little of that state championship poise.

Holy Cross, however, is really young -- three seniors and no juniors. Along with Tucker, it started an 8th grader, a freshman and two sophomores.

Next up for the Indians will be the Dixie Colonels on Friday at Holy Cross.

Holy Cross Radio will be there to cover the game. I will post a radio link on Friday for anyone not able to make it down to the Finn Center for the game.
