Mena Arkansas - Iran/Contra, drug running and the Clintons (and Bush's)

Going to back to the Clinton's rise in power, the Iran/Contra events were centered in Arkansas at a modern airport built as an 'economic stimulus' project.

This is not so much anti-HRC as it is a video about - 'what the heck is going on with the CIA and their function. This may explain why there is a symbiotic relationship between the Bush's and the Clinton's. Iran/Contra was a 'Reagan' scandal - but Bush was VP and former head of the CIA.

60 min long. Much of footage is new reels and interviews with state and federal officials. Most of the dots are well, well documented. Connecting them is not hard.

I always thought Casey and Weinberger were the ones who hatched the plan and put it in place.

Weinberger seems more in the mix. But as with most CIA things - the total facts never come out.

. The Iran-Contra Affair

Speculation about the involvement of Reagan, Vice President George Bush and the administration at large ran rampant. Independent Counsel Lawrence Walsh investigated the affair for the next eight years. Fourteen people were charged with either operational or "cover-up" crimes. In the end, North's conviction was overturned on a technicality, and President Bush issued six pardons, including one to McFarlane, who had already been convicted, and one to Weinberger before he stood trial.

Casey

William J. Casey - Wikipedia

According to Woodward, when Casey was asked if he knew about the diversion of funds to the Nicaraguan Contras, "His head jerked up hard. He stared, and finally nodded yes. "Independent Counsel, Lawrence Walsh wrote: "Independent Counsel obtained no documentary evidence showing Casey knew about or approved the diversion. The only direct testimony linking Casey to early knowledge of the diversion came from [Oliver] North."

Of course Casey probably had this down fairly accurate given the current polling data....

People often act as if our current Presidents are the only ones who are doing things "under the table." It's always been that way and it amuses me how much we forget that.

Thanks for the input Bluegrasscard. :thumb:
