ATLCat
1. Belfry Pirates (3A, 3-0)- Three weeks and three running clocks. In the cross hairs next 1A State Champs Pikeville. 2. Johnson Central Golden Eagles (4A, 3-0)- JC goes 2 for 2 against the Mountain State and now challenge their first EKY foe in Harlan County. 3. Corbin Redhounds (3A, 4-0)- Statement win for the Hounds over a red hot Danville team and Corbin asserts themselves near the top of the heap. Things don't get easier though as Southwestern comes calling. 4. Wayne County Cardinals (4A, 3-1)- Cards are rolling but they will face a stiff challenge from fellow 4A Region Mate Mercer County. 5. Southwestern Warriors (5A, 3-1)- Warriors have back to back quality wins and now look for a win against #3 Corbin that will upset the apple cart. 6. Pulaski County Maroons (5A, 2-1)- Pulaski is not getting the same respect as previous years but they have a chance to assert they are still a powerhouse with a red hot Rockcastle County team up next. 7. Paintsville Tigers (1A, 4-0)- Tigers are starting to dream of 1A Title grandeur, after already defeating Pikeville they now have a chance to knock off another potential District Champion in Williamsburg. 8. Rockcastle County Rockets (4A, 3-0)- The Rock train is rockin' and rollin. Rock crushed a solid 3A Garrard County and now has a chance for a statement against #6 Pulaski County. 9. Raceland Rams (1A, 4-0)- It is time to give the Rams the credit they are due. Raceland appears to be the class of NEKY and just pounded a Greenup team that has given everyone troubles. Lucasville Valley, OH is a formidable foe. 10. Knox Central Panthers (4A, 2-2)- Knox lost the Carton kid and he will be tough to replace and it showed in a nail biting win against Harlan County. Knox draws 6A Henry Clay next in a bit of a watershed game. Player of the Week RB Jordan Doan, Somerset Somerset experimented with something new this week, the "Wild Doan". Doan was sensational in a big win over Hazard in last week's GOTW. Doan ran 14 times for 143 yards and 3 TD's. Since they were lining him up as QB anyway he decided to make the most of it completing 5 passes for 57 yards as well. Game of the Week #3 Corbin Redhounds at #5 Southwestern Warriors- One of the best games of the early season featuring two teams from EKY. Last year Southwestern took the "W" but Corbin is on a mission to avenge all their losses from last season. Three More for Good Measure #8 Rockcastle County Rockets at #6 Pulaski County Maroons- A game for two teams to answer questions. People wonder what each have, this matchup should prove clarity Allen Central Rebels at South Floyd Raiders- These two rivals meet for the last time before joining together in the new Floyd Central High School Phelps @ Montcalm, WV- The Hornets will end their losing streak soon. I am calling it! Could this be the week and could it also be the start of a *gulp* winning streak?
