Great game. Down to the wire

Probably one of the more exciting games last night. Game went back and forth most of the night. Keenan John for South Oldham returned the opening kickoff 90 yds for a TD. South then held Doss and the snap for the punt went out of the end zone. Doss turned around and made it 9-6. Great running from Traynor. He is the real deal as an athlete and a runner. South made it 16-6 on a short TD pass from Zaubi to Silcox. Doss went up 20-16 at half behind a very strong running game and a tough defense.

South got a break early in the second half with Doss fumbling and South drove down and Zaubi took it in from the one to go up 23-20. Doss answered with an amazing run by Traynor to go up 26-23. South answered with a tying field goal at 26 all in the fourth. Doss then drove down inside the South 10 with under 4 minutes left. On fourth and 3 South got the stop by inches at the 5 yd line. South Oldham then drove 95 yds for the game winning TD. Zaubi to Colton Bowldon for 65 yds down to the Doss 25 swung the field in Souths favor. They ran the ball down to the one with Zaubi taking it in for the final score with 36 secs left.

The D1 athletes for Doss are very good players and deserving of the recognition they are getting. Souths running game behind a very good line and the running of George, Elsbury, Kelly and Martin and the passing of Zaubi kept Doss's defense off balance enough to move the ball. That was a tough, physical game. It was a good game to enjoy with both teams making some great plays. Good luck to both teams going forward.
