Newport Central Catholic 28 Holmes 0 (Scrimmage)

With the constant breeze it was close to perfect for a game this morning, except for when the sun peaked out from the clouds.......and in 3 quarters of varsity action the Breds take down the Dawgs up on the "hill".

The NewCath defense was giving the Dawgs offense all they could handle, and then some, as the Dawgs were limited to maybe 5 1st downs.

On offense Patrick Henschen and company looked really good. On the Breds 1st possession Henschen lofts one about 50 yards and hits Trent Wrobleski in stride in the endzone for the score.

On the 2nd Breds possession, Henschen uses his arm and feet to get the Breds in the Redzone, then a 10 yard TD run by So. Kyle Kelly gives the Breds their 2nd score.

On the Breds next possession Henschen air-mails a pass about 50 yards and hits Sr. Luke Moeves in stride at about the 10 and he waltzes into the endzone from there.

NewCath would score their final TD on their 1st possession coming out of the halftime break, as Henschen fakes the hand-off to Kelly and "jukes and jives" 70 yards to the promised land.

The Holmes punter got off a few very nice punts in this one, and NewCath kicker, Soccer player, Matt Otten sent the 1st 3 kickoffs into the endzone.

Sorry for the typo, the NewCath kicker is Mitch Otten.
