Jo-Jo13 Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 Good Read: Despite the difficult season, OCHS head coach Mike Shatzer said100 student-athletes showed up to play football this season, a sign that the program is doing something right. “I’ll say this about our kids, they worked hard all season, and they didn’t give up. The chips were down against us a lot of times, but you do what you have to do to make it work. I think we had fun at times,” Shatzer said. “No one likes to lose. We want to get rid of that taste in our mouths.” Shatzer said the team is still developing, but had great spring practices and offseason conditioning programs. A difficult schedule from a year ago doesn’t lighten up as OCHS plays the same opponents with the sites flipping. OCHS hosts 6-A Ballard in the season opener on Aug. 19 before traveling to rivals North Oldham and Shelby County in consecutive weeks. “Our program doesn’t take a break any week this year,” Shatzer said. For the first two games of the year, OCHS will be without last year’s starting quarterback Ammon Harding, who is suspended based on an administrative decision made by the coaching staff and school officials. Junior quarterback Erix Edwards will most likely take the reins after starting for the junior varsity team a year ago. Season Preview: Oldham County football | OldhamEra.com
True blue (and gold) Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 Thanks for sharing, Jo-Jo. I'm a South fan, but I with OC the best in all other games.
