This was a Turnover filled game, Masons offense was bad most of the night as this was a 7-6 game late into the 3RD before Lafayette took control.Mason had 6 turnovers and Lafayette had 4.A defensive minded game here by both and both offenses should get better with time.

Royals lets get a good week of practice this week and get ready for next week.:thumb:

I was really surprised with what I saw from Mason's defense. Their interior line is awesome!!! Mason's No. 5 will flat out lay the woood to ya. Miller looked good when they got him the ball. Plays really solid corner too. Miller had a pick in the game that showed off some of his deceptive speed.

I thought the difference in this game was the QB's Mason went will dual action tonight between middleton and No. 10. They both need more games under thier belts and I believe they will be fine. There were a couple times recievers got open and the touch wasn't there, Middleton has got a really nice arm.

Just a couple of observations re. the Royals,

Right now the D-line looks to be ahead of the O-line. The Royals' lone TD was scored on an option play, not a lot of holes for the RBs.

Running backs are tough but undersized. Crawford's motor never stops running.

QB situation needs to be resolved. Cox showed some rust, probably needs a lot more reps. Both QBs need to learn when to tuck the ball in and take off; threw into double coverage too often.

Miller and Browning can both get up and catch the ball, but neither had the pure speed to get behind Lafayette's secondary.

Mason's punter was a pleasant surprise. The new kickoff man is a soccer player who is new to FB; has a lot of leg but is (not surprisingly) a bit inconsistent.

Defense played well. The first Lafayette score was set up with a long kickoff return to the Royal's 23. The Generals' final score was with 1:49 left.

How good did Jeremy Thompson play?
