Final from Flemingsburg. Rowan lead 5-1 East made a comeback in the 6th to cut the lead to 5-4 and Rowan had to bring Plank in to close the door.

Wow! As pointed out in updates, Rowan Co. Coach rolled the dice and heldback Planck for a hoped for semi date with 1st game winner, Greenup Co. RC previously lost to EC 8-2 and 9-1. Ryle did the same thing in 9th and got upset by St. Henry.

 

In RC's case, Planck had to shutdown East Carter's 6 run rally in the 6th. He threw 7 pitches to one batter who helped him by swinging and missing two high and outside pitches. When it's coming at 90+, that might have been the only area he could see it. Planck then shuts them down in order on 9 pitches in the 7th, getting the Save and ready to throw tomorrow.

 

One thing I will predict, Greenup Co. (who beat him 12-1 in the season) will not help Planck by swinging at bad pitches. Could be a fun game to see at 5:30 tomorrow. Bring chairs, as stands are minimal and sitelines obstructed from people setting chairs in front of stands.
