Unofficial observations:

 

Stringer pitched 4 strong innings, striking out the side in both the 1st and 3rd innings and a total of 8 of the first 12 batters. Cooper got their first baserunner opening the 5th (single to deep short) and then Stringer hit the next batter putting runners on 1st & 2nd. Combs replaced Stringer with both runners advancing on a sacrifice bunt. Cooper then scored their only run on an infield groundout. Small ball at its' finest.

 

Combs finished the 5th, Huseman pitched the 6th allowing a single. Fiedler pitched the 7th unscathed. Cooper finished with 1 run, 2 hits, 1 HBP. LP Friend who gave up 4 runs through two innings (I think).

 

Beechwood was led by Fiedler who doubled home two runs in the second, and an RBI single in the 3rd. Stringer had a two run double in the 2nd. BW was never pressed and played a solid defensive game.

I assume by Fiedler we are talking about Kyle Fieger? He was called Fiedler many times during the football season.

If Reid was the righthander that replaced Friend, he put in a very solid performance.

The measure of a great player, is the play on the field. Not the talk of their dad! Be humble both the player and dad. A lot of players and dads could use Combs' as an example.
