Anderson County went 4-1 in the championship bracket at KBA this weekend, finishing 5th in the boys middle school state tournament. Out of the 5 games, 3 of them were super exciting. They opened with an overtime win against East Oldham, played at LCA. They came back Saturday morning and beat handily Bowling Green middle, followed by Tates Creek. They then beat Owensboro Middle by one point on a full court pass layup buzzer beater. Their last game came against Ashland Middle, and they went from the highest of highs after beating Owensboro on a last second shot, to the lowest of lows losing to Ashland in over time on a buzzer beating 8 foot floater on the base line. That game was to get to the final four. Anderson had a 6 point lead about mid way through the 4th quarter when the momentum completely changed on a very controversial technical call against one of the Anderson Co starters after he was piled on and fouled during a lose ball situation. Ashland has a solid team and can shoot the lights out of it. We were told they were undefeated on the season going into that game. They ran out of steam though against Morton Middle from Lexington in the final four, dropping a 2 point game after being behind 20+ in the 3rd quarter. North Pulaski went on to beat Morton in the finals to win the 8th grade state I believe for the 3rd time in a row.

Anderson finished the season on a good run and beat a lot of good teams this year, and lost a few close ones. Good year for the Mustangs.

I've followed their season a little and was hoping to get to watch them play. Congrats on a great season!

Just goes to show there are great basketball players all over this state.
