How does Greenup Co. look this year?

Featured Replies

Hey I was just wondering what the Musketeer outlook was for this season?

I heard last night that they are lucky to have a team this year. This came from a graduate of Greenup. I think they had 25 varsity players. This is sad- Greenup should have a loaded team every year. That big of a school system with only 25 varsity players????? Tough for themand sad, very sad.

Greenup County has a lot of big kids/good athletes; just no interest in playing for the football team. Last year, a group of "old schoolers" tried to help with the program, but it didin't seem to translate to success on Friday nights. I think the soph class for this year is the future. These underclassmen are sure to get their chances to play significant minutes, but they may not be ready to compete for wins. This program is probably another year away from getting back on track. I wish them the best, but it will be ugly when they meet the Devils.

I have heard much of the same from GC people, They do have some good but young kids I understand. They have had some kids that have left the team either last year or just didn't come out this year. You are right in that with the size school system they have those numbers are pitiful. I had also heard that they had around 35 - 40 out but that may have dropped by now. At any rate, things don't look good down there right now. I hope that they can renew interst in the program for the future.
