New golf course at Cumberland Falls SP???

Featured Replies

I heard yesterday that ground had already been broken on a new 10 million dollar golf course at Cumberland Falls State Park to add to the Kentucky State Park's "Signature Series" golf courses, which include Wasiota Winds at Pine Mt SP in Bell County, Dale Hollow in Cumberland County, Grayson Lake in Carter County, Yatesville in Lawerence County, Mineral Mounds in Western Kentucky, and two others that I can't remember.

Does anyone have any information on this?

No info on this but i had heard at the end of last year that the state was going to re-do Burnside's course also to make it into a "signature series" course. One of the workers at the park told us that they moved the superintendant from Dale Hollow to Burnside to oversee the project but there hasnt been anything done since i was there last in April....Anyone else hear anything?

That's what they did at Pine Mountain State Park's old 9 hole course.....basicly plowed it up and built a new 18 hole layout. It sounds like that may be what they're going to do with the Burnside course, if your info is correct.

If it's true it would be great news for golf lovers of the region. Two beautiful "Signature Series" courses within 40 miles of one another.:dancingpa

I'm now hearing that the Cumberland Falls SP course has only been "approved", but work may not start on it for several years. The guy I discussed this with said the Burnside Course in Pulaski County would be built well before the Cumberland Falls course was ever started.

Still, this is good news:dancingpa

Three state park "Signature Courses" (Pine Mountain, Cumberland Falls, and General Burnside) within a little over an hour driving distance from one another. This should definitely be a big boost for tourism in southcentral and southeastern Kentucky.
