By far Anderson Co. is the best team in this region, this must be the year to win it all for them because after this year they lose 8 seniors. District 30 will be the toughest district in the region with Collins not losing much and finishing 2nd in the region last year. If you look at Spencer Co. and Shelby Co. Records in the region outside there district they were a combined 10-3. I think that shows you just how tough that district is. I would say district 29 would be the next toughest. Oldham Co. Will be tough, I think North Oldham and Trimble Co. Will fight it out for 2nd place. North Oldham has lost a lot with there #1 pitcher gone. I think it's a toss up for worst district, neither the 31 or 32 district will matter much on who goes to Owensboro. Henry Co. Will make a big drop in the 31st because of losing 8 seniors, so Owen Co. Will win that by default. Simon Kenton will win the 32nd, but won't get passed the 2nd round in region.

Gallatin may be a step ahead of Henry. They have a couple girls that have faired well while playing travel ball and may step their game up this season.

Spencer I look to do really well this year. They have a new coach that is really making changes within their softball program.

Anderson is the heavy favorite with Collins and Oldham as the two challengers. After those 3 there is a big drop off.

BlueandBlack you are a huge Titan and you say Anderson is the heavy favorite. Anderson is good and they are the smart pick at this time to win the region but I think our Titans are going to be pretty good. I like my team. Collins has a very tough schedule that should prepare them for the District and region. Collins has some new kids that should help as well.

BillyBrewer I think if you compare the Collins and Anderson schedule I believe Anderson has a tougher schedule. Who are the new kids for Collins?

Anderson will have a good schedule. Brent always does. Collins will play more than likely including tournaments; Woodford Co, Scott Co, Mercy, Assumption, Elizabethtown, Anderson (2), Bullitt East, Ballard, and probably South Warren or Warren East at least. They got a couple of kids from across town. 1st Baseman from Shelby County and a catcher from Shelby County.

Was the catcher going to Collins from Shelby a starter last year?

No doubt Collins will be good and have the best chance of anyone in the region to knock Anderson off. However, after finishing 4th in the state and returning everyone it wouldn't be right to pick anyone else to win the region at this point.

 

Collins always plays a tough schedule and they seem to have stepped it up even more this season. A full schedule hasn't been posted on KHSAA, but so far they have Mercy, Scott County, Christian County, Anderson County, Butler, Lafayette, Bullitt East, Oldham County, Sacred Heart, and Woodford County all on the schedule. They will certainly be prepared for the postseason.
