Clay beats a good Franklin Simpson team tonight, Clay had as many 11 point lead in the game but Franklin Simpson battled back to keep it close.

 

Blake Smith and Tavin Lovan put on a show during the game. Each had to have over 30 pts, and a couple monster dunks, and then after the game really put on a show in the finals of the dunk contest.

 

Lovan is a super nice player couldn't be stopped, but Blake Smith couldn't. Either. Franklin Simpson better than i thought.

Trey Farmer is one cool cucumber. Knocked down free throw after free throw. Cats lead 69 63 with around 5 minutes left when a questionable block call changed the game. Great experience for FS against a very solid Clay County team. Really fun game to watch.

And i do agree about the questionable block call, i thought this was one of the worst officiated games ive seen in awhile, they missedd calls on both ends of the floor all night. The technical foul on Franklin Simpson coach was terrible, but then they turn around and make it up and give Blake Smith a technical for holding his hands up, giving him his 4th foul in the 3rd quarter. Refs where terrible all night.

Hope they aren't as bad tonight.

What did the coach say to earn a T?

He had a player down under the goal and his team had the ball, and the refs wouldn't stop play, so he came out on floor yelling for a timeout

smith got his T for throwing his hands up and saying OMG. The block call on smiths drive which looked like a charge from where I was was huge. Clay had one point lead and it would been smiths 5th foul with 3-4 min to go. Like somebody said officiating wasn't the best but not the worst I have seen. Clay got all the calls late from philpot.

And Franklin Simpson got all the from him the first 3 quarters, 2 of Smiths fouls where not even close and 2 of Lovans fouls where terrible calls. Corbin fans was even commenting how bad the calls where on both ends.

Fouls shots are indicators of style of play, clay almost always shoots more foul shoots than there opponents even on the road. Smith and Farmer attack the basket all the time.

If you want more foul shots then quit jacking up 3's. Over a 3rd of Franklin Simpsons shot attempts where 3's.
