Marshall 16 Connecticut 10

St. Pete Bowl

As already posted, not many fans there.

Florida is just not a place where fans go to the stadium or ball parks very often.

Marshall(10-3) did not look great on offense, but then again they did not have to be, to defeat a very average at best U. Conn squad.

Chase Litton(Tampa, Fl) went 23-34,218 yards 1 TD and 1 Pick.

Deandre Reaves(Sterling, VA) had nine catches, good for 88 yards.

U.Conn(6-7) was held to 86 passing yards and 127 rushing yards.

I was glad to see Marshall win this one. I hope that Marshall can keep coach Doc Holliday in Huntington, the man is a class act, excellent football coach and recruiter. I know that a lot of schools that can pay a much higher salary has to be calling him. Living within 25 miles of Marshall U. I really pull for them. I can still remember the night of that 1970 plane crash that Killed all 75 Marshall football players along with coaches, press members and other University per333sonel. I was 13 yrs. old and watching tv that night the news broke. Our entire area of this KY, WVA, OH. tri state corners were devastated.

I apologize I realize that had nothing to do with this game but is one of those things that if one lives here in our area that you never forget
