Lawrence County 86 Fleming County 66

Final from Mason County's Mike Murphy Classic.

Lawrence will face Montgomery County in tomorrow night's semi-finals.

Lawrence Co. has a very talented and undefeated team. They are well coached and the Dalton brothers are flyers that battle. Their PG Chaffins is very quick, pushes the ball and keeps this team constantly attacking. Fleming Co. is obviously down this year and were just outmanned at every position.

Disturbing mouthing took place all night between Fleming's 6'5" center and one of the brothers that was T'd up and settled down by Coach York. Later Fleming's coach was T'd up for refusing to quit complaining about a bonus vs. two shot foul. His continual in your face style seemed to rub off on his players. IMO his final action speaks very directly to the inappropriateness and confrontational nature that doesn't belong. After the game, Lawrence Co.'s Coach York sent the two brothers to the locker, fearing some unpleasantries might continue. The rest of both teams passed through the traditional good sportsmanship lines. The Fleming staff verbally accosted Lawrence's Coach who stayed very calm in explaining why he felt this action best. I agreed with him 100%.

Wow! "Come on man". Fleming has a lot to work to do on and off the court. High school basketball is no place for a coach to be set such an in your face example for his players. Looked like a terrible AAU example. IMO
