J Anderson led the Cards with 25 points. All GRC players played in the game. Glad to see J Isreal back on the hardwood tonight. He started his Sophomore year at the PG position. Decided not to play last year and concentrate on football. This team has alot of sophomores. We are young but boy I did enjoy how they played with so much energy. Going to be a fun team to watch.

Yes he did and he is going to be a good one. I really like his hustle and his knowledge of the game. When I look at a player I never go on just points scored, there is more to being a good team if each player plays their role each night.He is definitely a name to remember for GRC.

 

This team is very deep but young. They all are competing for playing time and we will see lots of players playing.

Jyles Anderson scored 25 points and the George Rogers Clark High School boys basketball team overwhelmed visiting Nicholas County, 93-50 Tuesday night at Letcher Norton Gym.

The Cardinals (1-0) scored the first 13 points and led 21-4 at one point, putting the Bluejackets (0-1) away early.

The team did it largely with strong defense in the first half and unselfish play on the offensive end through the game.

 

 

"He (Philpot) had such a special night tonight," Humphrey said. "That's a kid who is probably eight or ninth man on the freshman team last year and here he is starting varsity in his sophomore year. And that's due to how hard that kid worked in the offseason. I'm real happy for him."

 

Elijah Barnett paced the Bluejackets with 15 points, scoring 10 in the third quarter. Wes Sapp added eight points while Bryce Mackland and Sam Hamilton scored six points apiece.
