Congrats to Katelynd Porter, Paige Porter and Paige Vanhoose of the Raceland "Lady Rams" on making the ADI all area girls softball team. Also congrats to Kylie Fannin on being named honorable mention on this list.:thumb:   . These girls along with the Lady Rams team and coaches had a great season, making it to the regional finals and will return everyone from this years team next season. All these girls work hard and deserve the honors that they recieve.

One correction on this thread is I do believe that the rams lost a couple of seniors but the "core" of the team will be returning.

Is Raceland the team with the strong pitcher who had a younger sister on the team? Did they play in the Holmes tourney?

I don't think so cshs81. Raceland has a strong pitcher, but she doesn't have a sister on the team. As far as I know, they didn't play in Holmes.

Congrats to all who made the team.

How was Russell coach and a Russell player not named coach and player of the year?

They did not lose a game in-region after losing 6-7 starters from last year's team.

Congrats to all who made the team.

I don't know cubster, I was just giving congrats to the Raceland girls that made th all area (Ashland Daily) team. As fo rthe Russell girls and coach, I guess that your question should go to someone at the ADI, I have thrown that issue of the paper away or I would check the Russell girls that made the team, I honestly don't know. Anyway, congrats again to ALL girls that made the team.:thumb: :thumb:

Fairview High School was at the Holmes tournament. Fairview's Katie Daniel pitched all but two innings of that tournament, with her younger sister Hannah Daniel pitching in relief for two innings. Katie earned 47 strikeouts out of 61 outs.
