Final.

P88 asked in the other thread what happened to TSY?

My thoughts is this for some reason these two teams always find a way to make the game a lot closer than it should be especially if it means something such as district.

Monroe barely squeaked by.. Glasgow imo was the better team tonight! They wanted this game something awful and Monroe came out for the first half and played with no heart i was starting to wonder if the kids even wanted to be there! Other than that i think the coaching was off for the falcons in this one...with 4 min to go after monroe takes the lead instead of running the clock out they throw it for a pick 6 and the momentum shifted back and fourth from there. After monroe scored their final TD Glasgow took over with a min left and threw down MC throat and made it to the 4 yard line with about 11 sec and monroe ended up making 3 big stops in the red zone. Not sure what was going on with Glasgows clock but not so sure it was a mechanical error. Either way Monroes Defense is still looking solid majority of the time but there offense needs a ton of work or needs a different play caller..They did finally switch to a wildcat set which completely turned their game around and Glasgow could not stop it! still waiting to see monroe come together and when and if they do not sure if anybody in 2a will be able to stop them. Glasgow is a really good football team and one of their best recievers #2 was out for this game. To be as young as they are, I see them doing some great things in the next couple of years they are going to be a very talented group..congrats on the win Falcons! Get back to work this week to clinch a district title and get ready for a very tough playoff bracket!!

I am a little speechless at the moment... Monroe decided they would come to play in the second half almost to late. I want to give a couple shout outs before I begin they rundown of the nail biting game we all just witnessed. First... The defense of the Falcons, Gage Nelson and Devin Young seem to be the leaders of the squad. Awesome second half showing! Tre Whitlock had an amazing night as well!

Next Ty Mink is a complete stud as a sophomore. This kid decided he was going to take control of the ball game in the fourth and did just that. Jordan Phillips as always did more than his part, and I would love to see him carry it more! He put us in position to win the game.

Offense is really struggling for Monroe, and that is very scary this late in the season. I am not 100% sure this scheme and personnel is the correct fit. Defense will hold there own against just about anybody...IMO

Glasgow was hungry and to be honest just plain wanted the win more than Monroe. PERIOD!!!

The game went back and forth all night. They would score, we would score. I am sorry I did not keep the thread updated but I was beside myself until late in the third. This was a typical Glasgow/Monroe game. Right down to the last 1.7 seconds. Glasgow took the lead with five to go, Monroe scores with 3:36 left in the game off a Phillips long run up the gut that set up the score. Glasgow goes three and out and on the second play Monroe throws a pick six for the lead back to the Scotties. This is when Ty Mink decided he was not done. Power wildcat and six plays and 67 yards Ty walks in the end zone for the go ahead score. 38 seconds remain and Glasgow was not done. Three plays and long passes put them in first and goal from the 8. 3.6 seconds left....oh wait....the head coach of the Scotties gets a gift and has the score keeper change the clock to 6.3. They throw to corner of end zone but coincidently the clock actually stopped when the ball left the qb's hand. Incomplete.......1.7 seconds left.....another pass attempt but a long sack ends this one and Monroe advances to District Champs!

I won't be able to talk tomorrow! Electric atmosphere and revved up crowd! Go Falcons
