State track Meet and Facilities

Featured Replies

I just got finished talking with Chris lacks of Raceland on the state track meet at Lex. Dunbar h.s.. He was very impressed with the facility and said that all the people involved made him feel welcome, treated him with respect and were there to help the athletes any way they could. Chris aid that he liked everything but the High Jump surface, it was turf. He said that it was really tough to high jump from and that his legs felt "heavy" after every jump. Chris has not jumped from turf before and stated that if he jumped from it all the time or even had more experience with it that it would be great. Kudos to all involved in organizing and putting the meet on and Chris wanted to express thanks to all the support that he recieved. Memories were made today, Kudos to Dunbar High School - you have agreat facility.:thumb: Chris did not have one of his better efforts today, he finished 13th in the pole vault and finished way down on the high jump. He is glad that he had a chance to compete in a state competetion in two different events. This is an end to a great h.s. career at Raceland for Chris. He told his dad that he felt bad that he would not be a 'Ram" anymore and was told that "once a Ram, always a Ram". Now it is time to go on to the next level and new challenges in attending Campbellsville University and playing football for the Tigers and possibly runnning track.

Chris,

You had a great career at Raceland. We are all very proud of you. Your dad is right, no matter where you go or what color you wear, you'll always bleed orange and black! Take pride in that. Good luck at Campbellsville. You'll do great!

I was very impressed how well it was ran and how well the traffic was handled. My hat goes off to KHSAA and the Dunbar facilities. Only draw back was the rain on Friday, other than that all was smooth!

The facilities are very nice, except for the fact that when you are sitting in the stands you cannot see the 3 outside lanes when they are coming down the track because of the elevated stands.
