Henderson Co's Cedric Rainey will go to prep school.

Rainey is headed to Fork Union in Virginia.

Cedric Rainey, who had the senior season of his promising football career wiped out with a knee injury, has decided to attend prep school next year at Fork Union Military Academy in Virginia.

Rainey, who was a 1,000-yard rusher as a junior at Henderson County, will play on Fork Union's postgraduate team this fall and will have four years of college eligibility remaining.

Rainey said his only other option was to attend a junior college. "I definitely wanted to go to a prep school. It's kind of like being redshirted and getting to play my freshman season too," he said.

Fork Union's football alumni includes Heisman Trophy winners Eddie George and Vinny Testaverde.

Great news- I hope he returns to play at a D-1 Kentucky program.I was very impressed with him when I saw him play as a junior in the play-offs.
