It was a SELLOUT crowd on hand tonight in Alexandria for the 5th Annual HITS for CHICKS game at Bishop Brossart, where the visiting Breds win in 4 exciting games. You can throw out the records when the Breds and Stangs get together, especially when it's the annual "Hits For Chicks" Breast Cancer Awareness game. ALL proceeds (gate, bake sale, & raffles) from this annual event go to Chicks and Chucks Inc. Chicks and Chucks” is a 501© (3) organization that is committed to those battling Breast Cancer. Game 1 - Brossart maintained a 3 point advantage most of the game, before NewCath tied it at 23's. However the Stangs get the next two points to escape with the 25-23 victory.

 

Game 2 - Like the first game, it was NewCath with the slight advantage throughout. However they could not shake the Stangs, but still have enough to outlast Brossart, 25-22.

 

Game 3 - NewCath races out to a 9-1 lead and the Stangs could no closer than 6 points, before NewCath scores a 25-16 win.

 

Game 4 - It was "nip n tuck" until the Breds grab a 13-8 lead. Brossart draws near at 13-10, but the Breds increase the score to 19-12 & 23-15. Brossart gives one final effort and gets as close as, 24-21, but the Breds get the final point for the 25-21 win.

 

Big "tip of the cap" to this years hosts Bishop Brossart for a great event. It's always nice each year when they announce the names of breast cancer survivors, and they come out on the floor and our presented roses from the players of both teams. :ylsuper:

The Brossart student section had a great time, but I think they got a little carried away when they started the "lets play football" cheer. :stop: :lol2:
