Clay County captures the 49th district championship by routing OBI in 5 innings. Freshman Nick Gray pitched a 5 inning no-hitter. Justin Collopy, Nathan White, Richard Jones, and Eric Harris all made the all-tournament team from Clay County.

Who else made the all-tournament team?

My hat goes off to the Tiger seniors and Coach Burchell, nobody dreamed of you guys knocking off North, but you guys did it. Nick Gray was stellar tonight on the hill. The only runner that got on was the lead off hitter on a walk. Keith Brown opened the flood gates with a 1st inning 2 out 3 run double. The Tigers played extremely well in their 2 games this week. Stay hot going in to region.

Thanks for the information-that would be Ryan Howell from North Laurel.

North Laurel and Jackson county both had 2 players on the all-tournament team but I'm not sure who they were.

Under no circumstances should a district championship score be this lopsided. The KHSAA must dump the blind draw in basketball and baseball and softball for their district tournaments.

I just heard Howell and Lakes. I'd say from Jackson County it would have been Troy Truitt, I don't know about North though.
