We have now seen all the ranked teams in 1A in action. Some of the pre-season ranked teams have already fallen by the wayside. Here is this week's top 10:

As we move forward the next few weeks, which of these teams do you think will fall in the rankings? Who do you think is overrated?

Imo, looking at each teams body of work, this is about right. Imo, within the top 5, the best team that they have faced is Ashland, which beat Raceland by 3 TDs. Beechwood beat a top 10 2a school by about the same spread, in Lloyd Mem. Im not sold on 2-5 yet on a concrete order. I think Pikeville and Paintsville have looked to be the best in the east, but this early in the year, we still dont know alot about these teams bc of early season competition hasnt been on par with what it was in seasons past. Ie: Prestonsburg/Frankfort arent the teams they have been and Sheldon Clark is down and West Carter may be alot better than many think, or, is Raceland down? I have no clue about Powell County, but West thumped them in week 2. So it's all kind if a big toss up for me. I still give Beechwood the knod at 1 and say Raceland as disapointed in comparison to preseason hype and Im still not sold on an order between 2-5, just like I wasnt in the preseason rankings. I will say this, i think 1-6 could all beat each other on any given night, atleast at this point in the season. This is the most balanced 1A has been since the 6 class system went in place.

Do people think this is a better beechwood team than in past couple of years, or are theyranked this high based on reputation and the fact that they have a better chance at winning 1A title since Mayfield left? Seems to me they lost a lot of talent from last years team.

Alot of Beechwood's credit has been attained by Mayfield's departure from the class. But, make no mistake, they have 3 really nice play makers at QB, RB, and WR. But i do believe they lost a bulk of their OL.

I believe this year's Beechwood team is clearly not as good as last year's but last year's team was very, very good. As stated above they have some top notch skill players and perhaps the top player in 1A in Brett Slusher (Yes, I know Daniel has the D1 scholly and there are a few other D1 level players, but Slusher is right there with them IMO). Those skill players and reputation is what has them at number one. If they get through the next 3 weeks without a loss, I will say they are the overwhelming favorite. That is a huge challenge. It is more likely they will lose one or two of the next three and that will shake up the rankings.
