Russell wins the 63rd District Championship. Russell improves to 24-12. This was a 3-3 game until Russell scored 3 in the top of the 6th. Strong pitching performance by Drew Taylor for Russell.

All Tournament Team:

David Bentley - Greenup County

Kenny Kegley - Lewis County

Thomas Tolliver - Raceland

Kory Darby - Raceland

Blake Morris - Raceland

Josh Lemmings - Russell

Aaron Beekman - Russell

Justin Potter - Russell

Drew Taylor - Russell

Russell outplayed the Rams. They simply wanted it more. Congrats. Taylor kept the ball low and Raceland could do nothing with it. Good luck to both teams in regionals.

Too bad, I really wanted to see the Rams with another District title. When is the draw for the region and when does the touney start?

I believe the region starts Memorial Day...not sure about the draw...

The draw is on Saturday.
