oldgrappler
What interesting match-ups occur this weekend? Boone will be in Lexington playing Tates Creek, Lafayette, and Brian Station. That's a nice variety. How about other NKY teams and their matches this weekend? Any others going to Lexington?
groinpull
CCH plays Trinity at CCH on Saturday evening. Should be a good game. The three teams you listed I can't say if they are good, bad or in the middle this year. Traditionally they are all pretty good.
Sir!
What interesting match-ups occur this weekend? Boone will be in Lexington playing Tates Creek, Lafayette, and Brian Station. That's a nice variety. How about other NKY teams and their matches this weekend? Any others going to Lexington? Goldilocks variety for Boone County this weekend... Bryan Station... to easy... Bryan Station won only 4 games last year and went 1-11 in Region 11 beating only Berea. Their ending Maher Rank from last year was 140 which put them 3 worse than Holmes and 5 worse than Pendleton County. Tates Creek... too hard... TC was 12-6-1 last year and lost to a very good Henry Clay team 1-0 in overtime in the first round of Regionals. TC brings back some very talented players, including 2nd team All-State selection Chewie Mutayongwa and HM All-State pick Amadi Mubelela. TC finished 10th in Maher Rankings last year. Lafayette... just right... Lafayette was 7-12 last year ending their season with a 1-0 overtime loss to PLD in Districts. They graduate 6 starters, but bring back decent numbers including All-State HM GK Trey Paskovics. Lafayette finished last year with a Maher Rank of 42. groinpull
I guess I was wrong on all three of them being pretty good but TC and Lafayette normally are........Bryan Station I guess not.
Yellow Card
I think that Tates Creek and Lafayette will be good tests. Bryan Station has been struggling to put together a good squad for quite some time. They only had 4 wins last season, and 2 for the 2013 season, I do not think they have a season with double digit wins in the last 10 years. Ryle is playing in the same event; they have Henry Clay, Tates Creek and Bryan Station.

I love the Goldilocks metaphor. Very apropos for the reasons you stated. These match-ups should give a really good indication of where Boone County is at this point in the season. Tates Creek is always good for a few chuckles in the crowd when the PA mentions Chewbacca.
flops&hacks
Tates creek will be hard to handle, they two players mentioned above are both very high quality players. If you can contain them and hit them with a quick counter attack you may be able to squeek one out. As for Henry clay, they may have the best defense in the state. Good luck getting through

We'll get a comparison between Ryle and Boone based on like opponents in two of the three match-ups this weekend. I hope Ryle has a successful weekend. Henry Clay and Tates Creek will be tough. Boone has traditionally played the Lex teams pretty tough (not necessarily winning), but this is such a different Boone team this year. It should be fun. Sir!
Based on the playing times listed will Boone County play a split squad the first two gmaes? They can't really be playing Bryan Station at 8:30 am and then TC at 10:00 am with the same players. Am I missing something?
Penalty Kick
I believe one of those games is Friday night, but the schedule hasn't been updated yet.

This is what I have for varsity games... Friday @ 6 pm v Tates Creek Saturday @ 7 pm v Lafayette Saturday @ 8:30 pm v Bryan Station Perhaps Bryan Station did the scheduling? Glad we will be fresh for Lafayette.
