The NKY Krushers 12U team completed a long, but productive weekend at Expressway Park in Milford, Ohio in the 14th Annual“Early Bird” GIRLS YOUTH FAST PITCH World Series Qualifier.

Saturday's pool play saw the Krushers go 4-0, with 3 Run-Rule victories. Game 1 was a win against league rival Kentucky Xplosion, 7-3. (The Krushers beat them on Wednesday in league play, 6-1.) Game 2 was the Ohio Hawks who they downed 8-0 in 4 innings. Game 3 was a 4-inning 12-1 win over the 2 Out Storm, and the final pool play victory was a thrashing of the Cincinnati Reds RBI, 24-8 in 3 innings. The Krushers lost the tie-breaker for the #1 seed by giving up a two-out base hit to the RBI team, had they held the them to 7 they would have went to the 4th tie-breaker (runs scored) and would have more than the Magic, 56-52.

 

Today's 1st game in bracket play sees the Krushers win 13-3 over the Ohio Hawks in 4 innings. This sets up a re-match with the Xplosion, but the pitching and hitting took a hiatus, and they fall by the count of 7-3 in 6 innings. This sends them into the Loser's Bracket where they would go on to win two straight, 14-0 over Cincinnati Reds RBI in 3-innings and 10-2 over the Ohio Hawks in 4-innings, and finish as Champs of this bracket.

 

The Krushers end the tournament with a 7-1 record and qualify for the World Series.

I saw last Wednesday game and the Krushers looked good. Didn't see the tournament, but my understanding is the Xplosion qualified as well. Congrats to the Krushers and Xplosion. Can't wait to see another game against one another:)

Rivercity

I believe they are the Blue team. There are three Bandit teams as the 12U level and they all play on Wed @ Rivercity. It is very cool to see so many girls getting involved in softball!
