A New York federal appeals court ruled Thursday that mass collection of phone records by the NSA is illegal.

Edward Snowden exposed the NSA's abuse of bulk collection and thought the actions of the NSA was illegal.

 

He was labeled as a traitor by many. It seems he's been vindicated to some degree.

Citizenfour is definitely worth the watch.

 

It is an HBO documentary and uses interviews in a hotel in Hong Kong with the British media. It is real interviews with the actual Edward Snowden - not a docudrama. Unfortunately, Britain has no freedom of the press guarantees and did not publish the most sensitive and detailed information under severe threat of jail for the major papers editors and owners.
