Cards clinch ACC Atlantic Division title with their win this afternoon.

If Cards win any of their final four ACC games, they will win the ACC Regular Season Championship.

Cards are 22-4 w/ game v. FSU today and 3 @ NC State this week before the ACC Tourney.

The U is 19-8 w/ 3 v. GT before the ACC Tourney.

Magic # is 1 for the overall ACC title.

McKay was super impressive in a game the Cards needed to win much more than the statistics would have indicated. After laying an egg before 6k fans against FSU on FRI night with Funkhouser not looking ready for prime time (not only did he pitch poorly, he had poor control, looked nervous and didn't have the mound presence you would have expected from your FRI night guy), McKay stepped up, threw strikes and challenged each batter. Other than an 11 pitch AB by Nieporte in the 2nd inning and a double by Nieporte (which was erased by him not clearly touching 1B and UofL appealed), he was masterful. (NOTE: the double as on a 3-1 count when McKay, pitching with a lead, challenged Nieporte rather than walking him to preserve his no-hitter. Smart & selfless play.)

Fitch was the superstar at the dish. The "SAT only" C may have earned some more playing time with that performance in a big game.

Fun game to watch. Hopefully today is not the last game played at JPat this season.

Let me correct myself. They play Vandy at JPat on TUE and are very likely to host a regional (top 16 teams). Big question is whether they can finish strong enough to get a Top 8 seed which would assure they are at home until eliminated OR Omaha.
