It was a beautiful day at the ball yard as the Breds played host to the Lady Raiders, and NewCath holds on for the 6-5 victory, their 6th in a row. NewCath gets a 6-0 lead after 4 full but, Ryle plates 4 in the 5th and one in the 6th to make things interesting.

Both teams had some nice plays, but errors were big in this game for both teams. However, I will say watching Ryle Fr. Maclai Branson play shortstop is an absolute treat......the young lady so "fluid", has a above average arm, and her ability to make the backhand grab look routine......and she can also hit the :poop: out of the ball . Although, she has a great teacher in her father, former Cincinnati Reds SS/2nd baseman & current Pittsburgh Pirate hitting coach, Jeff Branson.

Ryle 1st - FO-8, K, FO-8.

NewCath 1st - LO-5, GO5-3, Schreiber singles to left, however on Zimmerman's 3-2 pitch she is running. She thought the pitch was called strike 3 (the umpires arm motion and call even had me thinking strike 3), she rounds 2nd and takes 5 or 6 steps towards the 3rd base dugout when everyone is telling her to get back to the base. a pickle ensues and she is tagged out 2-5-4-5.

Ryle 2nd - Morgan Smith draws a walk, GO5-3, Smith to 2nd on throw....but she rounds 2nd and takes her time back to the base and is out 1-4, Ashley Couch reaches E5 (to 2nd on wild pitch), GO5-3.

NewCath - Haley Meyers doubles off the centerfield fence, Morgan Martini singles to left (advances to 2nd on throw), Bin bunts but reaches on E5 (Meyers & Martini score on the errant throw, Bin to 2nd), K, Lexi Potts reaches on E5 (Bin scores), Ware SAC 1-3 (Potts to 2nd), Potts steals 3rd, Kohls reaches on E5 (Potts scores), Kristen Schreiber singles to right and advances to 2nd on throw, GO6-3.

Ryle 3rd - K, GO1-3, Branson doubles high off the leftfield fence, FO-8.

NewCath 3rd - GO6-3, PO-6, GO5-3.

Ryle 4th - GO4-3, Smith with a "flare" into right, Kennady Carson hits one off the end of the bat that has "English" and no play for Kohls, GO1-4-3 (hit off Meyers glove), GO1-3.

NewCath 4th - GO6-3, K, Ware with a nubber" INF single, Kohls RBI double to rightcenter, Schreiber reaches on E6, Loren Zimmerman RBI double to rightcenter (Schreiber to 3rd), K.

Ryle 5th - Mackai Dickerson INF single, K, Branson single to left, K, McKenzi Dickerson RBI single to right (advances on throw), Smith reaches on E6 (Dickerson scores), Carson walks, Ashley Couch RBI single to left, Morgan HBP, GO1-3.

NewCath 5th - K, Bin single to rightcenter, K, FO-8.

Ryle 6th - K, Branson walks, Mackenzie Irons INF single, PO-5, Smith RBI "flare" to rightcenter, PO-3.

NewCath 6th - Ware "flare" to right, Kohls SAC bunt, GO6-3 (Ware to 3rd), FO-9.

Ryle 7th - Couch reaches on E5, Morgan SAC bunt 5-4 (nice bare hand grab and throw by Zimmerman), GO4-3, PO-5.
