April 14, 201511 yr I'm no huge fan of Sen. Corker of Tennessee, but this is how grown ups are supposed to politic. While Sen. Cotton of Arkansas and many of the other senate Republicans were throwing a tantrum about the Iran nuclear talks and writing pointless letters to Tehran, Sen. Corker was doing what a committee chair should do: working behind the scenes to find out exactly what it would take to get enough Democratic support behind a Republican-led effort to restrict the president's ability to waive sanctions on Iran during and after the talks. Here is the consequence: a unanimous passage by the committee and -- quite likely -- enough Democratic votes to secure a veto-proof majority for the bill. Still not a big fan of Sen. Corker's politics, but I respect him a lot more than I did before. Senate Panel Unanimously Approves Iran Bill
April 15, 201511 yr Mr. Corker should have mentored Reid when he was Senate leader. Reid would not allow a vote on hundreds of bills. No effort at working across the aisle and afraid that his own people might vote these bills.
