Chris Maggard was the WFTG player of the game getting the win on the mound, scoring 4 runs, driving in 7, including a walk off grand slam HR in the bottom of the 5th to end the game. Shawn Boroviak hit a 3 run HR in the 3rd inning as well. Jeremy Fiechter got the save for the Jags. Most of the varsity players were pulled after 3 innings.

I agree with another who said that the walk-off grand slam was a perfect ending for such an odd game. There was all sorts of odd plays in this one. As MT said, NL did get to play a lot of their younger players in this one. Good Luck to the Jags in Hazard over the weekend.

I agree with there being some odd plays. The runner called out at first because he went back to the dugout after being called safe was very strange. I don't think I have ever seen that before in a HS game.

 

Who do they play in Hazard this weekend? I think they have 2 games tonight and 1 on Saturday, but wasn't sure who they played.

It seems like McWhorter is playing less small ball and letting them hit away more. I still like small ball in certain situations and against certain types of teams, but it is good to see them let go of the reins a little bit!

 

Both those kids are good kids and I am glad to see them 'going yard'! :thumb:
