Barren County was really frankly lucky to even be in that position as some crazy things happened late. Bowling Green took a 12 point lead into the fourth, and took the air out of the ball. Barren just kept chipping away, and suddenly late, found themselves down three with the ball. They hit a shot, got fouled. Missed the free throw, rebounded it, put it in, up 1. Bowling Green gets fouled, hits 1 of 2, OT. But in OT, Barren County had a 67-66 lead with the ball. They got to the foul line. Missed two free throws. Bowling Green comes down, gets it to Taylor. Fouled with 6.9 left. He hits both. A bad shot from inside the three point line went begging for Barren County and the upset was denied. Free throws folks. Gotta have them. It's a huge strength for the Purples, the miss in regulation notwithstanding.

Bowling Green does a terrific job at driving to the basket. Because they are so aggressive, they can get to the ft line almost at will. This is one of the best FT shooting teams I can remember seeing in the BG area. Tip of the hat to BG Basketball, they are terrific.
