2015 55th District Tournament Preview

Featured Replies

Site: Wolfe County High School

Favorite: Breathitt County (8-15):

Breathitt County started the season off slow, losing their first 7 games and going 2-10 in December. Breathitt County split with Wolfe County this season losing 56-44 to the Wolves on their own home floor but defeating them 72-45 in Jackson.

Best Chance to knock off Breathitt: Wolfe County (5-19):

Despite being 5-19 on the season, the Wolves do own a victory over the favorite, Breathitt County in Campton, the site of this year's 55th district tournament.

Close Behind: Jackson City (14-15):

The Tigers have the best record this season out of all the teams in the 55th district but have yet to play Breathitt County, a team they will meet in the first round of the district tournament.

Last Place: Riverside Christian (0-23):

Riverside has took a lot of beatings this season but they also have played one of the toughest schedules out of all the teams in the 55th. Much like the Breathitt/Jackson City game, Riverside and Wolfe County have yet to play eachother this season.

Players to Watch:

Luke Chaney (Breathitt County) leads the Bobcats in scoring at 16.6 points per game. Chaney also shoots over 34% from 3 point range. Chaney also leads the team in rebounding with 13 boards per game.

Justin Baker / Ethan Little (Breathitt County) both are averaging 13 points per game for the Bobcats.

Bradley Lawson (Wolfe County) is the Wolves best player and leading scorer at 17 points per game. He is also Wolfe County's best 3 point shooter, give him daylight and he can make you pay.

Devin Stone (Wolfe County) 2nd in scoring for Wolfe County with 11 points a game.

Landry Hayes (Jackson City) leads Jackson City in scoring with 13 points per game.

Shermon Collins / John Turner (Jackson City) both are averaging 12 points per game for the Tigers.

Jordan Barnett (Jackson City) averages 10.5 points a game, shoots 34% from long range. He can make you pay if he gets hot.

Schedule:

Tuesday February 24th: 6:00 PM - Riverside Christian at Wolfe County

Tuesday February 24th: 7:30 PM - Breathitt County vs. Jackson City

Friday February 27th: 7:00 PM - Championship
