hardball Posted April 12, 2006 Posted April 12, 2006 Strange game as both Brown and Perkins hooked up in what should have been a pitcher's duel. With the strike zone the size of a college textbook, it turned into a game with 17 (I think) walks.
shs2005 Posted April 12, 2006 Posted April 12, 2006 I got the opportunity to watch the last 2 innings of this game. The umpire was terrible. We have seen him a few times at Somerset and his strikezone is unbeliveable inconsistant. He worked Colby to death last night in the 6th inning. There was also a questionable call on the baserunning mistake that Caleb Rowe made when the 2nd basemen blocked his path to second.
hardball Posted April 12, 2006 Author Posted April 12, 2006 It was simply a case of a young umpire behind the plate that looked up into the stands and saw 6 or 7 professional scouts and decided that he needed to have a major league strike zone (or smaller). The play on the base paths was just bad; a clear obstruction call. It didn't doom Pulaski, though, their own defense took care of that.
SLINK Posted April 13, 2006 Posted April 13, 2006 Both of these teams will vie for the 12th Region crown.
