Congratulations to the Camels for bringing home the 37th district championship.

Camels were led by Junior Cam Lemons and Sophmore Garrin Bertsch with 11 points each. Joel Day and Cam Lemons each hit two crucial free throws to seal the win. Brossart's Joey Hickman led all scorers with 15 points. Congrats to the Camels on winning the 37th district title.

Lemons has solid blood lines. His pop and I played at SG back in the day. No matter what sport it was, the guy could play it and play it well.

Camels avenge a one-point loss to the Mustangs in the Crosstown Classic, and an overtime loss to the Mustangs in last year's district JV finals.

 

Mustangs led 26-18 with 3:40 to go in the third quarter and appeared to be well-poised to repeat, when the Camels went on a 9-1 run to tie up the event at 27-27 at the end of the period. Brossart could muster only two field-goals in the second half and missed three key front-ends down the stretch. This was only Brossart's second loss in 17 outings, the other came to the Holmes Bulldogs.

 

I too am happy to see Cam Lemons have success. I too go back to the Virgil and Gary Lemmons days in the Grove.
