Oldham County 51 Gallatin County 50

Great game in Buckner tonight - too bad most people were scared away, apparently, by the weather. They missed a great, highly competitive, exciting, down-to-the-very-last-second thriller between the Lady Colonels and Lady Cats.

Hannah Dossett of Gallatin was superb with 28 points. Her last bucket came on a short 10 footer off the right baseline with 20 seconds left to give Gallatin a 50-49 lead.

After Oldham threw the ball away, it took a few seconds for the Lady Colonels to foul, and when they did foul Autumn Bowen, a solid free throw shooter, only 5 seconds remained.

Bowen missed the front end of the one-and-one, Abigail Stewart grabbed the rebound, and threw the outlet pass to Kasey Wernert, who took it all the way to the other end of court, where she launched a right-handed hook shot off the right baseline. The ball hit the net as the buzzer sounded, giving Oldham a 51-50 win.

The biggest lead of the game was a seven point advantage for Oldham at 29-22...... The lead changes were numerous.

Oldham's Abigail Stewart finished with a solid double-double: 13 points, 12 rebounds, to go along with three blocks and 3 assists (unofficial)

Jayla Davis led Oldham with 14 points.

Gallatin falls to 13-6; Oldham improves to 10-10.

Great game; very exciting. Both teams gave it all.

Congrats to Coach Bryant and the Colonels. Several big shots and big plays made by both teams, especially the game winner.
