Friday, 1-23-15 at Oldham County

Jace Bryant is slowly making all the right moves in Oldham County. The Lady Colonels won 16 games each of the last two years, won the district last year and advanced to the region SF.

This year, without all-region performer Ashley McMurtrey, the Lady Colonels are struggling around .500, but they still have weapons and are showing some promise. Abigail Stewart may finish as the school's all-time leader in blocks, and is averaging near a double-double. Jayla Davis at times is showing the ability to take over a game at both ends with her athleticism. 8th grader Sophia Head is showing a tremendous outside shooting stroke. Oldham recently knocked off 6th region power Holy Cross.

Gallatin County, coached by Holly Roberts, has won 7 of 8 as of this writing and is 12-5 on the season. Hannah Dossett is having an insane year, at 20.9 ppg / 7.0 rebounds. The Lady Cats just won the All-A 8th Region Tournament.

Gallatin travels to Oldham County on Friday for a 7:30 tipoff. Who wins / why?

I believe that Gallatin Co's Coach Howell has been married for a couple of years now.

Gallatin Co wins this one. Dossett is a force everywhere on the floor. Autumn Bowen can respond well when Dossett is being double teamed. The problem with double teaming Dossett is that you have to do it everywhere. She can shoot WELL beyond the arc.

Coach Roberts is married? The emails I am getting from her still say Coach Roberts....I checked the KHSAA site and it also still says Roberts. Since I only know her through our basketball communications back and forth, I didn't know she had married / changed her name (and apparently, nobody's bothered to change her name in email / the state website!)

Joke's on me, I guess.

:lol2:
