Cody Philpot went five innings for the win in SL's season opener and Jeremy Brown's first win as a head coach. Josh Riley seems to have shown no ill effects from the transition to baseball from hoops, with a double and a two-run homer, scoring three times. Trey Smith also made the adjustment well, with a single and a grand slam.

 

Trevor Merriman hit a solo homer for Lincoln, who couldn't put much offense together. Also, the play of left fielder Tony Martin was huge for Lincoln, as he made a number of fantastic catches to steal away SL hits.
