Holy Cross 53 Bishop Brossart 50

Recommended Posts

Congrats to Holy Cross. I'm impressed with the Mustangs for stayed within 2!

Led 45-41 with 3:12 to go, then HC went on a 10-0 run to take a 51-45 lead.

Tyler Bezold, who hadn't scored in three periods, hit the only field goal that HC would score in the period, a 3-pointer, plus 8 for 8 from the FT line.

We're getting better. Still plenty of untapped potential. Too many turnovers and too many missed high percentage shots, plus another sluggish start (17-9) cost the Mustangs tonight.

Actually the final score was 53-50 favor Holy Cross

Leighton Schrand led the Tribe with 16 points, 10 of which came in the opening period. Tyler Bezold added 11 - all in the fourth quarter.

Spencer Hackworth and Jackson Crawford led the Mustangs with 10 each.

Holy Cross held an 11 point advantage over the Mustangs from the charity stripe 19/24 to 8/13.

Again the Mustangs were inexplicably offensively challenged in the first period, falling behind 17-8 after 8 minutes of play. The Mustangs outscored the home team 42-38 the rest of the way out.

The Indians improve to 6-3 on the season, while the Mustangs fall to under .500 at 3-4.

The Mustangs next varsity appearance will be in the Henry County Holiday Tournament December 29, 30, 31st in New Castle. Our opening opponent will be Lexington Sayre in the 7:30pm game on Monday. The Indians head to Ashland for the AIT on December 27th where their first assignment is with the host Ashland Paul Blazer Tomcats.
