7th Region Final Update

IMVHO there are several things that could have been done differently by all of the adults involved that could have prevented this ugliness.

  1. The people at J-Town should never have contacted the assigning secretary on the day of the semi-final game. All schools have a certain number of official scratches, J-Town didn't scratch these two guys so I don't understand (other then paranoia on someones part) why they thought the referees should be changed. There is no rule in Jefferson County (or anyplace in the state that I am aware of) that says a graduate can not officiate games involving his/her school.
  2. The assigning secretary should not have switched the officials.
  3. The second official should not have confronted Vic Montgomery in the officials dressing room at halftime of a game Vic was working.
  4. After the confrontation the two officials should not have allowed it to overflow out of the dressing room.
  5. Vic should have left well enough alone and never should have filed for the injunction.
